Church in the Community

Situated in the center of the picturesque and historic town of North Wales on Church and Main Streets, St. Peter's has always had a community bent. Happily, we are hosting a number of community groups in our facilities. Our Fellowship Hall is used daily by guest groups and ministries. We are a church in and for the community.

Alcoholics Anonymous

For many decades now we have hosted mid-day meetings of AA groups. Currently groups meet here every day except for Sundays and Mondays. The Tuesday through Friday groups meet at 12:00 noon and the larger Saturday group at 1:15 p.m. The groups are organized independently from the church, open for everyone and confidential/anonymous. We support them with our prayers and by providing our space. For more information about AA and their approach to recovery from alcohol addiction, please check out

Summer Art Camps

For the last few years we have conducted art camps for K-6th grades in the summer. The camps are run by a local Elementary School art teacher and a North Wales free lance arts illustrator. The camps are always filled to capacity and affordable for families. You may check out the website of Renee Williams-Erwin at Not only has Renee been a leader for art instruction, she has also designed several murals in the Greater North Wales area, which were painted by children. Two of them are in our church.

Montgomery County Concert Band

The Montgomery County Concert Band was founded in 1995 by Stephen E. Frederick and Paul Ferla. It's a big band that specializes in a variety of music from the traditional concert band repertoire, including symphonic works, orchestral transcriptions, medleys, and marches. We are happy to host their rehearsals at St. Peter's from time to time. Please check them out at

Aerobic Rhythmics

On Tuesday and on Thursday nights at 6:00 p.m. you will hear music and rhythmic movement in our Fellowship Hall. That's when the women from Aerobics Rhythmics meet here for their twice weekly exercise. For more information, check out

Korean Ministry

In the fall of 2011, St. Peter’s engaged in a partnership with the ELCA and Korean Lutheran Mission Developer Jonathan Shin. Since then a Korean worshipping community meets at St. Peter's on early Sunday afternoons. They worship in Korean. Please check them out on Facebook.

Red Cross Blood Drives

About three times a year we host community Red Cross Blood Drives, typically on Monday afternoons and evenings. Dates and times will be posted on our website calendar in advance.

Oktoberfest/Community Day

In 2008 our church started a community Oktoberfest. The event has since evolved into North Wales Community Day, held on the first Saturday of October. The event includes lots of vendors, a free kids zone at Weingartner Park and lots of music, food and beverages, including beer. Our church offers traditional German food, beer and other beverages from 11:30 a.m. - 6:00 p.m. and also has life music throughout that time. It's fun and a way to bring people together.

North Penn Partnership of Churches

The North Penn Partnership of Churches was started in 2013 as a successor of the North Penn Ministerium. It is comprised of both "mainline" and "evangelical" churches. The churches focus on collaboration on behalf of Christ and the people in the Greater North Penn area, especially in social ministries. Our pastor is an active participant of this group.
