O sing to the Lord a new song!
Make a joyful noise to the Lord, all the earth; break forth into joyous song and sing praises!
Sing praises to the Lord with the lyre, with the lyre and the sound of melody!
With trumpets and the sound of the horn, make a joyful noise before the King, the Lord!
St. Peter's Music Ministry is a very active and vibrant part of our church life. All our different groups participate in Sunday morning services to enrich and enliven our meaningful worship. There are many different opportunities available to serve God through music. Whether you love to sing, can ring a bell and count to four, play an instrument or just like to clap your hands, “All God’s critters got a place in the Choir!”
Please check out our choirs listed below and see where your place will be!
Rehearsal Tuesday 5:00–5:30 p.m.
This is our youngest choir made up of children in kindergarten, first, second and third grades. We are very fortunate to have a very energetic group of young children lead us in worship during our family services every month. In addition to learning new songs to sing, we also work with hand bells and different rhythm instruments and have a good time while learning.
Rehearsal Tuesday 6:00–6:30 p.m.
This group of enthusiastic young ladies in grades four through twelve bring a bit of a contemporary sound to our worship services. Together with the Cherubs, the Girls Ensemble lead our family services each month.
St. Peter's Adult Choir
Rehearsal Wednesday 7:45–9:00 p.m.
St. Peter’s Adult Choir is the foundation of our music ministry. This group welcomes all age singers in leading the congregation through worship every Sunday. At times, we split the group into a women’s ensemble; a men’s ensemble; or a trio or quartet; but we always make a joyful noise to the glory of the Lord!
Rehearsal Tuesday 5:30–6:00 p.m.
This is our beginning group of ringers for grades four through seven. Here we learn the basics of bell ringing and ensemble ringing.
Rehearsal Tuesday 6:30–7:00 p.m.
Once the ringers have mastered all the basic techniques, they move into our middle group. This group has teens and adults mixed together. Here we begin working on more challenging music.
St. Peter's Belles
Rehearsal Wednesday 6:15–7:30 p.m.
St. Peter’s Belles has been an institution at St. Peter’s since 1993. What began as a very timid two-octave bell choir has blossomed into a very talented four-octave ensemble. We perform once a month for our Sunday services, but also go out into the community to nursing homes, retirement communities, weddings and other special events. Other Musical Opportunities
Faithful Noise and Contemporary Christian Music
Rehearsal times vary
Our contemporary band plays every third Sunday of the month. Each month the group takes on a slightly different look with varying elements of piano, guitar, percussion, keyboard, bass guitar and vocals. No matter what the combination, the worship experience is always energetic.
Rehearsal times vary
A group of young dancers prepares and rehearses at selected times of the year to enhance worship with sacred dance. Typically, the age ranges from 4th - 8th grade, but is not set in stone. Their expressions of faith are enjoyed by all.
Summer Music Series
During the summer months, St. Peter’s present a special summer series with many guest musicians. We range from jazz, blues, and folk services to guest bagpipers, harpists and gospel choirs and themed worship. Summer services usually take place from Memorial Day weekend until the second Sunday of September, at 9:30 a.m. It's an adventure and a creative work of love every year.
"Next to the Word of God, the noble art of music is the greatest treasure in the world."
