Confirmation Classes are provided for 7th and 8th graders in a two-year program that starts in September of a given year and ends two years later in spring with a service of Confirmation or Affirmation of Faith. These sessions provide in-depth knowledge about the history of the church, the Bible, the Christian faith, Lutheran teachings and how it relates to everyday life.
Our Youth Group gathers on the 1st and 3rd Sundays at 10 am in the Hang Out Room. Our youth meet to discuss important issues in their lives and explore their Lutheran faith together. Sessions may include games, art, music, snacks, or just hanging together. Special outings are held periodically and have included trips to the Philadelphia Christmas Market, Dorney Park, Phillies games, and pool parties. The gatherings are led by James and Lisa Miller.
Each year the youth experiences what it is like to be homeless by staying as a group overnight in a "box city." The supervised event helps the youth to understand how others in the community may live.
Every few years there is a united states wide gathering of Lutheran youth and supervisors/chaperones in a large city such as Detroit, Austin, etc. and the youth are in large arenas to experience group worship and hearing from spiritual leaders. They also get to attend breakout sessions and get to participate in community service projects.
Every 3 years the youth travel to a native American community to do community service projects and learning about traditional native American rituals.
Youth from local Synod churches get together to learn and grow spiritually.
