Family Ministry
at St. Peter’s Lutheran Church
At St. Peter’s, we believe Christian education is a journey, not a destination. From our youngest learners to lifelong members, we strive to nurture faith through learning, community, and joyful connection. Come grow with us!
Family Ministry at St. Peter’s
Our Family Ministry helps families connect, learn, and grow in faith together. Through worship, education, and fellowship, we build lasting relationships rooted in God’s love.

From October through May, the first Sunday of each month (excluding holidays) is Ohana Sunday — a special celebration of family and community.
In Hawaiian, ohana means family, but it extends beyond relatives to include friends, mentors, and anyone with whom we share deep bonds. It’s a way of life that reminds us that no one is forgotten or left behind.
Ohana Sunday brings this spirit to life at St. Peter’s through intergenerational worship and fellowship. People of all ages take part in worship leadership, and each 10 a.m. service is followed by an all-ages event hosted by one of our ministry teams.

Our SPARK Program provides Christian education and faith formation for children ages 3 (Pre-K) through 6th grade. Classes take place on Sunday mornings during the 10 a.m. service, September through May.
SPARK uses hands-on activities, storytelling, and Bible exploration—covering both Old and New Testament lessons—to make learning about God fun, engaging, and meaningful.

Throughout the year, there are events for youth (6th - 12th grade) to socialize and grow in faith. Events vary by year but have included:
Weekend Retreat at Bear Creek
Service Week community projects
Cooking Challenges and Pool Parties
Box City homelessness awareness experience
Interfaith Retreat with local partners
Every event helps our youth discover how faith comes alive in everyday life.
