Since the 1980's we have housed a Thrift Shop in our basement, which is open from September through early June. All proceeds from the Thrift Shop are donated to local charities, strengthening the Social Ministry capacity in the greater North Wales area.
The Thrift Shop
Wednesdays: 9:30 am to 4:30 pm
Saturdays: 9:00 am to 1:00 pm
Started as an outreach program for Nehemiah’s Way, St. Peter’s Thrift Shop is a non-profit organization that supports women and children who come from domestic abuse situations. Ever-increasing profits over the years of more than a quarter of a million dollars ($274,000+) have allowed an expanded outreach to other local women’s and children’s charities.
Laurel House (formerly Nehemiah’s Way) continues to be the main recipient of charitable donations, but KenCrest Child Development Centers, Silver Springs–Martin Luther School, and Manna on Main Street also receive contributions. All sales generate direct contributions to the charities as the Thrift Shop is fortunate to have no overhead. St. Peter’s Lutheran Church provides the space for an all-volunteer staff to carry out this mission. SHOP—DONATE—VOLUNTEER!
