O sing to the Lord a new song!
Make a joyful noise to the Lord, all the earth;
break forth into joyous song and sing praises!
Sing praises to the Lord with the lyre,
with the lyre and the sound of melody!
With trumpets and the sound of the horn,
make a joyful noise before the King, the Lord! -- Psalm 98
St. Peter's Music Ministry is a very active and vibrant part of our church life. All our different groups participate in Sunday morning services to enrich and enliven our meaningful worship. There are many different opportunities available to serve God through music. Whether you love to sing, can ring a bell and count to four, play an instrument or just like to clap your hands, “All God’s critters got a place in the Choir!”
During the summer months, St. Peter’s present a special summer series with many guest musicians. We range from jazz, blues, and folk services to guest bagpipers, harpists and gospel choirs and themed worship. Summer services usually take place from Memorial Day weekend until the second Sunday of September, at 9:30 a.m. It's an adventure and a creative work of love every year.
St. Peter’s Belles has been an institution at St. Peter’s since 1993. What began as a very timid two-octave bell choir has blossomed into a very talented four-octave ensemble. We perform once a month for our Sunday services, but also go out into the community to nursing homes, retirement communities, weddings and other special events.
"Next to the Word of God, the noble art of music is the greatest treasure in the world."
—Martin Luther
