Families

At St. Peter’s we believe that Christian Education is a journey, not a destination. We strive to promote lifelong learning and community engagement.  Come get started on your journey!

Ohana Sunday

From October through May, the first Sunday of the month is Ohana Sunday (excluding holidays).  Ohana means family, where no one is forgotten or left behind.

Ohana Sunday celebrates our entire church family and more! In Hawaiian, Ohana means family, but it extends beyond blood relatives to include close friends, extended family, and anyone with whom a deep bond is shared.  In Hawaiian culture, Ohana is not just a word; it's a way of life, emphasizing a sense of belonging.

Ohana Sunday will celebrate community in all forms, including people of all ages in worship leadership and fellowship.  Following each Ohana Sunday (10 am) Service is an event for all ages sponsored by one of the many ministry groups of St. Peter's.   Check out the calendar for more details.

SPARK Sunday School

We provide Christian Education and Faith Formation for children from age 3 (Pre-K) through 6th grade. Our program takes place on Sunday mornings during the 10:00 am service from September through May.

The SPARK Program teaches Bible stories, covering both the Old and New Testaments with activities that make learning fun.

 First Holy Communion

Classes are held in the fall for 3rd graders or older children who did not yet receive Holy Communion.  Classes run for three sessions which culminates in First Holy Communion.  Children who will receive their First Holy Communion have to be baptized first.

Confirmation

Confirmation Classes are provided for 7th and 8th graders in a two-year program that starts in September of a given year and ends two years later in spring with a service of Confirmation or Affirmation of Faith. These sessions provide in-depth knowledge about the Bible, the Christian faith, and how it relates to everyday life.  Part of the confirmation journey is retreats, service projects, and involvement in church and fellowship youth gatherings.
